Why do you say O Jacob.mp3

Sometimes discouragement and failure take their toll of our faith and assurance. That is when we begin to say to ourselves, as Israel did, “my way is hidden from the Lord, and my just claim is passed over by my God.” We forget that the Lord never rewards us according as our sins deserve. Instead we bemoan how forgotten and hard done by we are. But God in His grace takes the time to remind us, His greatness has not failed. He is still the Creator. He is still the Sustainer of all that keeps us in life. He is still the One who assures us that His almighty power is ready to support us, and carry us through the hardest times. What promise could be sweeter to the undeserving than the one found in this song – “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” What better reason could we have to abandon our introspective gloom and rely upon the unfailing goodness of the Lord?
